Texture forcefield experiment 10 - smoke curl
For this Texture Forcefield experiment I used a texture field in curl mode to influence some smoke

Texture forcefield experiment 9 - voronoi field smoke
For this Texture Forcefield Experiment I used an Voronoi texture in a forcefield to influence the smoke from a smoke simulation. I rendered the scene using blender 2.77 testbuild 2 to give the new cycles GPU smoke rendering a try. To my surprise rendering smoke on the GPU hat far less noise than rendering it with the CPU using the same settings. Maybe thats just because its a testbuild.

smoke density selection
for this animation I used a smoke sim and a volume material. The material only selects part of the density values using a color-ramp node. The smoke has no temperature difference but is moved by a turbulence force-field

cycles ink drop
A while ago Blender Diplom created an awesome tutorial on how to simulate an ink blob in blender using the smoke simulator. Unfortunately this tutorial uses the blender internal render.
I played a bit with the cycles smoke materials to recreate this in cycles. Here is my result not perfect but getting there

reverse smoke
For this animation I rendered a blender smoke simulation and reverted the frames before combining them to a video to make it look like the smoke gets sucked back into the deformed cube

dissolving smoke
for this animation I've used a Turbulence force field to whirl some no gravity dissolving smoke around. you can download the blend file here
purple smoke
This animation was created by accident. I played with the new smoke/fire material of the object/Quick Smoke menu in blender 2.72-RC and accidentally set one of the parameters to -2. I have no idea how or why this works but its definitely worth exploring further.

how to remove the blender default-cube with style - part 3 - puff of smoke
When starting a blender scene almost everybody removes the default cube. This is kind of sad and therefore I started thinking about who to remove it with style.
for this part i made the default cube disappear in a puff of smoke
more to come ...
this is my day 29 project for 30DaysOfCreativity

blender particle experiments - magic potion
In this part of my blender particle experiments I used the particle system to trigger some smoke inside a bottle. The liquid is animated by using a texture that uses object mapping and a moving empty.
I think the flask would fit perfectly on the working desk of a mad scientist
