I rendered a flower in a vase using cycles. The vase was generated using a glass shader and two magic textures that change the displacement and color of the glass

Blender particle experiments - spherical fluid
For this part of my blender particle experiments I made some fluid particles that are floating around an invisible sphere
To make the particles float on the spherical surface I added a sphere and made it invisible. Then I added a forcefield and set the strength to -1. I turned of the gravity for the particles and made the sphere a collision object.

Blender particle experiments - growing
Its been a while since I used particles and the BI-Renderer for the last time - so I made a particle experiment again
for this blender particle experiment I used a cached particle system and rendered the particles using a strand material

blender boolean experiment
this animation was made to explore the possibilities of the boolean modifier in blender. The boolean modifier is a little bit instable in blender 2.63 and i had to restart the rendering several times. but i really like the result

I started experimenting with the blender dupliverts. For this animation I used a subdivided plane as the base object and modified it using a displacement modifier

dublivert experiment
I played a bit with dubliverts using cycles. It took me some time to find out how to hide the original object, because in cycles it doesn't disappear by default. It doesn't help to move the object to another layer or to hide it because this would also affect the child objects.
I finally found that the object gets hidden if you assign it empty dubliverts, because these don't get assigned to the child objects

how to remove the blender default-cube with style - part 3 - puff of smoke
When starting a blender scene almost everybody removes the default cube. This is kind of sad and therefore I started thinking about who to remove it with style.
for this part i made the default cube disappear in a puff of smoke
