reverse smoke

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-01-13T06:34:24+00:00

For this animation I rendered a blender smoke simulation and reverted the frames before combining them to a video to make it look like the smoke gets sucked back into the deformed cube

dissolving smoke

for this animation I've used a Turbulence force field to whirl some no gravity dissolving smoke around. you can download the blend file here

purple smoke

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-09-26T05:33:35+00:00

This animation was created by accident. I played with the new smoke/fire material of the object/Quick Smoke menu in blender 2.72-RC and accidentally set one of the parameters to -2. I have no idea how or why this works but its definitely worth exploring further.

light bounce

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-05-19T06:22:11+00:00

for this animation I used the rigid body physics simulation of blender. The only lightsource is the icosphere that bounces through the peg board

blender fluid experiment

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-04-17T08:10:27+00:00

I have created some animations using the fluid simulator in blender before but this experiment is the first one I really like. The material is a mixture of a glass node, a transparent node and a glossy node. The fluid was rendered with a resolution of 300 and a subdivision of 2. If you want to render it your self - be warned it takes some time.

exhibition

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-09T06:29:33+00:00

For this animation I created a sequence with the breaking sphere and then a second one for the melting effect. Then I combined them using the video sequence editor, by reversing the first part and then playing the second part.

no gravity fluid simulation

This is a sphere of a transparent fluid in a low gravity setting, simulated using the blender fluid simulation

freeze

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-03-13T06:36:55+00:00

I made a new short animation. The freezing effect was created using a cycles material animation. The breaking part was created using the cell fracture addon and the bullet physics engine in blender 2.66

rolling hairy spheres

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-02-24T10:55:46+00:00

I made a blender animation featuring bullet physics and cycles hair rendering. In one video!

This is my obligatory blender 2.66 bullet physics test video :-)
