blender curve experiments - connected cubes
For this part of my blender curve experiments I made 2 cubes that are connected by a bezier curve
I added a empty as a hook to the first and last vertex of the curve and then parented a cube to each of these. Now I can move or rotate the cubes and the curve follows.
This could come handy for a lot of things ranging from steampunk machines to 3D busines graphics

For this part of my blender curve experiments I modeled a flower and a vase using bezier curves.
I also added a little bee that follows a bezier-track

cycles crystal material
A cycles crystal material test render
To achive the color dispersion effect 3 Glass Shaders with slightly different IOR values are used. Each of them has a different color. To make the material a little more bright I added a 4th Glass Shader using white as base color.

for this part of my blender curve experiments I have woven some fabric using a bunch of curves and the array modifier

blender curve experiments - spaceship
For this part of my blender curve experiments I made a spaceship out of a bezier curve and a bevel object
I then turned the object into a mesh using Alt-C "curve to mesh" and added 2 materials one for the body and one for the window.
I also added a vertex-group to the jet engine to make the particles only come out from the back of the ship and not the whole hull.

in this part of my blender curve experiments I tied a curve into a knot
for the first part of the animation I used a build modifier and the tightening of the knot was animated using a shape key
