Spores
The spores have been made with an iso-sphere and a bevel modifier, the image was rendered with cycles

surface - a short film made with blender
I made a short film with blender based on my blender particle experiments
all animation, compositing and video-edition has been made using blender, the sound track was recorded using ableton live
blender particle experiments - frozen particles
for this part of my blender particle experiments I made a still image of particles frozen in an cube of ice. The image has been rendered with cycles - I really like the glass and metal materials.

blender particle experiments - displacement
For this part of my blender particle experiments I used a texture to change the displacement of the vertices and the speed of the particles that drive the explosion modifier.
This way you can make certain areas of a mesh bend outwards before you make them explode.

blender particle experiments - dancing little stars
for this part of my blender particle experiments I made some little stars dance - using a boid particle system

bouncing cubes
These are some bouncing cubes I have animated using the blender softbody physics simulation.

blender particle experiments - splash
for this part of my blender particle experiments I experimented a bit with particles as a dynamic paint brush - which is really cool and enables a whole range of new effects.
I also added a softbody object to have something that generates the splash

blender particle experiments - indirect light with group particles
For this part of my blender particle experiments I played a bit with group particles - but this time I didn't use it to make the particle system pick some particles at random. I used it to group a cube and a light to make the shadows below the cube particle to simulate indirect lighting
