cycles material animation test 2

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-04-13T06:46:11+02:00

This short animation is my second cycles material-animation test. This time I animated the IOR parameter of a glass material to make the letters go from nearly invisible to solid glass and then the mix parameter to turn it to a diffuse surface or metal

would make a nice effect for a film title

cycles material animation test

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-04-12T06:13:37+02:00

In this short video I experimented with animating the parameters of a node based material. In the first half I animated the color of a velvet node, and then the mixing value to blend between a the velvet material and a glass material

old stairs

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-03-31T14:19:59+02:00

The tower and the stairs are generated using array modifiers and cubes. I used the ivy-curve add-on to generate the ivy-vines.

I really like the stair and the lights, the stone material holds room for improvement.

This is another testrender I made using cycles

hearts

I made two hearts in blender. I rendered them with cycles.

blender particle experiments - frozen particles

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-03-06T05:02:24+01:00

for this part of my blender particle experiments I made a still image of particles frozen in an cube of ice. The image has been rendered with cycles - I really like the glass and metal materials.

blender particle experiments - siny cubes

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-02-19T07:34:04+01:00

This time I didn't render an animation but only a image. The cubes have been generated by a no-pyhsics particle system, that uses a group of 4 cubes with rounded corners. The image has been rendered with cycles.

Blender particle experiments - a plasma ball

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-02-12T15:45:37+01:00

This is my third blender particle experiment. This animation was generated from two particle sets with newton-physics simulation and gravity set to zero. This makes the particles flow in the direction of the normals without dropping to the floor.

The blue particles have a highter start speed and therefore occupy more space. The animation was rendered with cycles because I wanted to use caustics on the floor
