blender particle experiments - spherical bounce

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-09-02T09:39:25+02:00

For this part of my blender particle experiments I made some particles bounce of a spherical object. The effect was generated using a spherical object that acts as a forcefield and a obstacle to the particles. The particle system needs to have the gravity turned of.

Blender particle experiments - spherical fluid

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-08-31T16:24:57+02:00

For this part of my blender particle experiments I made some fluid particles that are floating around an invisible sphere

To make the particles float on the spherical surface I added a sphere and made it invisible. Then I added a forcefield and set the strength to -1. I turned of the gravity for the particles and made the sphere a collision object.

Blender particle experiments - bubbles

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-08-30T16:44:33+02:00

in this part of my blender particles experiments I used particle-textures to change the size and the location of the particles

Blender particle experiments - growing

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-08-29T06:10:22+02:00

Its been a while since I used particles and the BI-Renderer for the last time - so I made a particle experiment again

for this blender particle experiment I used a cached particle system and rendered the particles using a strand material

how to remove the blender default-cube with style - part 2 - burn it

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-06-26T05:48:46+02:00

When starting a blender scene almost everybody removes the default cube. This is kind of sad and therefore I started thinking about who to remove it with style.

in this part I removed the default cube using an animated cycles material to make it burn

more to come ...

this is my day 26 project for 30DaysOfCreativity

how to remove the blender default-cube ... with style (part1)

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-06-24T08:24:23+02:00

When starting a blender scene almost everybody removes the default cube. This is kind of sad and therefore I started thinking about who to remove it with style.

for this part I dissolved the default-cube into lots of smaller cubes and made them slowly fade into non-existence

cube destruction

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-06-18T06:05:19+02:00

I used a bunch of cubes and a forcefield to make a nice slow-mo destruction animation

blender curve experiements - fuze

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-05-15T05:26:56+02:00

For this part of my blender curve experiments I animated a fuze using dynamic paint and a particle system

spooky wood

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-05-09T05:54:16+02:00

The trees of this spooky wood where generated while playing with the new knife tool.

The scene has no active light source. I only used ambient occlusion to make the trees visible

blender curve experiment - curly hair with cycles

Nikolaus Gradwohl2012-05-05T07:40:33+02:00

First of all - no, cycles still has no hair or particle renderer - BUT To render short hair that doesn't need hair-dynamics you can use object groups to render the hair.

I made some spirales and deformed them using the proportional editing tool with random influence, grouped them together and used them as dubliobjects in a hair particle system on the head figure

curly hair

The need to have a bevel value and bevel has to be set to full for this to work.

Still not perfect, because of the lack of hair-dynamics, but very nice for some cartoony characters or still images.
