dynamic paint displace

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-22T06:44:57+00:00

For this animation I used an ico-sphere as a dynamic paint canvas in displace mode to move some cube particles

vertex emission

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-21T06:39:18+00:00

for this animation I used the vertices of a icosphere as emission points for a particle system

For this animation I created a particle system and froze time

A Novation LaunchControl script for BitWig-Studio

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-15T06:29:27+00:00

I wrote a bitwig-studio controller script for the novation launchcontrol

you can download it from my github page

to install copy the files to your 'Bitwig Studio/Controller Scripts/' Folder

novation launchcontrol

The User-Pages emmit midi events that can be used to midi-learn the knobs and buttons to in Bitwig the script is based on the work of eduk

The Factory-Pages are mapped to the following functions:

for this animation I used several different force-fields to influence the movement of cubic particles

how to make a small scratchingpost

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-10T06:49:34+00:00

I build a small scratchingpost from scratch (sorry could not resist :-) ) to prevent my cats from scratching on my chair. I used scrap materials I had lying around and it only took me a view minutes.

scratching post

These are the materials I used:

  • a piece of wood for the base (I used the remains of an old cat-tree)
  • a cardboard can (from müsli, potatochips, ...)
  • a screw, a washer and a nut
  • a sisal-clothsline
  • some doublesided stickytape
  • small rubberfeed

point-density node experiment

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-09T06:26:28+00:00

For this animation I used the gooseberry-branch of blender 2.75. I made a volumetric material using the point-density texture node to create a cloud and added some red point lamps to a second particle sytem from the same emitter.

you can download the blend file here

If you want to run this blend file make sure you use the gooseberry branch of blender 2.75 - the point-density texture node isn't available in the stable branch yet

particle forcefield interaction

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-08T06:10:57+00:00

for this animation I let a lot of particles interact with two forcefields

nogravity molecular fluid

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-07T06:18:35+00:00

for this animation I used the molecular-addon by pyroevil on a fluid particle system without gravity

bubble cells

Nikolaus Gradwohl2015-09-02T06:27:39+00:00

For this animation I used two iso-surfaces using the cubesurfer addon on a particle system. The I used the boolean modifier to calculate the difference between the two meshes.
