headbanging hairball

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-01-13T08:33:59+00:00

I've created a headbanging hairball using blender and the cycles hair strand node

a small world

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-01-12T16:40:39+00:00

I created a very small low poly world, maybe I turn them into a isometric tile for a game but I'm not sure yet

animated anisotropic sphere

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-01-05T09:06:01+00:00

This is my first experiment with an animated material that uses the cycles anisotropic shader.

particle grid glitter

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-29T09:17:49+00:00

For this animation I turned a curve into a mesh and subdivided it several times. Then I placed particles of different sizes at the vertices and used a field to dissolve it

growing particles

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-23T10:43:44+00:00

I have made another experiment with the bTrace addon and the cycles subsurface scattering shader node

little planet

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-20T06:04:28+00:00

To create this little toy planet I only used an icosphere and a cycles material with a displacement texture, several math nodes and a color ramp for coloring the mountains

glowing particles

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-17T09:14:47+00:00

For this animation I used two particle systems, a hair particle system using a blender hair material node and a second one using a icosphere with an emission material

cycles material deform

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-14T08:26:38+00:00

I experimented again with the blender material displacement output for this animation. I used a displacement modifier to make coarse modifications and a blender material with a displacement texture for the finer ripples. I really like the new displacement settings that got introduced in 2.69

break

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-11T06:06:25+00:00

For this animation I played with the cell fracture add-on and some meta-balls

cycles displacement

Nikolaus Gradwohl2013-12-10T06:18:56+00:00

I played a bit with the displacement output of cycles materials and the new experimental "true" displacement feature in the mesh settings
