sunset city

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-06-10T17:39:32+00:00

I created a new background image for my computer today using a volumetric material in cycles.

blender 2.71 cycles fire test

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-05-27T05:57:04+00:00

this is a first test of the fire capabilities in the new blender 2.71 testbuild.

here are the material nodes I used for the flames and the smoke.

bTrace Cell-fracture experiment

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-05-26T06:10:21+00:00

For this animation animation I combined a cell-fracture explosion and some particle traces using the bTrace addon. To make the shards of the plane move I placed a force field below the shards and turned the gravity off. The particles are not influenced by the force field, but by a turbulence field placed above the plane.

tree layers in processing

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-05-23T07:59:11+00:00

I created a simple endless scrolling animation of hills with trees using processing today. The background is a gradient image that is pre-generated in the setup() method. The hills are created using curveVertex(), the trees are simple ellipses and rectangles. After each layer I burred the image with a radius of 1 so the further away the layers are the more blurred they get

light bounce

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-05-19T06:22:11+00:00

for this animation I used the rigid body physics simulation of blender. The only lightsource is the icosphere that bounces through the peg board

boolean experiment 2

Nikolaus Gradwohl2014-05-02T05:40:24+00:00

This is my second experiment with the blender boolean modifier. For this video I used two of them, a first one to create the slices of the sphere and a second one to make them appear in the first half of the video
